In 2022, the United Nations Development Programme received a mandate from its member states to improve the messaging of their Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). These 17 objectives provide a shared blueprint for success and prosperity around the world, but stakeholders were struggling to understand the intersection and interdependency of the goals. Their communications team engaged Terra to design a striking, versatile visual identity for “SDG Integration” and apply the brand to a host of multimedia assets.
A Synergistic Visual Identity
The SDGs are already highly recognizable within the global development community. To tell the new story of integration, we chose a visual identity based in interlocking elements that could be leveraged individually, but joined together to form bold, cohesive designs. The result was a scalable, sleek hexagonal pattern that captured the project’s themes of synergy and modernization.
